New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's basketball won its 11th-straight conference game on Monday night, defeating CCNY with a score of 71-49 at the Sportsplex.
Hunter took the time before the game to honor its five seniors;
Jade Aponte,
Ashley Arias,
Selina Lim,
Marlena Budna and
Christine Patterson.
The Hawks improved to 15-9 overall and 14-1 in CUNYAC, while the Beavers are now 9-6 in conference play.
The Purple and Gold led for the entire game, ending the first half with a score of 37-26. The Hawks extended their advantage to 19 points in the third quarter and then led by as much as 26 in the fourth, eventually getting the 71-49 win.
The Hawks shot 44.4 percent from the floor in the victory, forcing 26 Beaver turnovers.
Jade Aponte led the squad with 20 points, followed by
Theresa Leung's 19 points and five assists.
Christine Patterson added 14 points, shooting 6-8 from the field.
The team returns to action on Wednesday, February 13 when they travel to John Jay College.
