New York, N.Y. - Hunter College women's basketball won its 10-straight conference game on Thursday night, defeating Baruch College with a score of 74-43 at the ARC Arena.
The Hawks improved to 14-9 overall and 13-1 in the CUNYAC, while the Bearcats are now 5-9 in conference.
Hunter finished the first quarter with a six-point lead and then extended it into the second by scoring the first 15 points to make the score 33-13. The Bearcats finally stopped the Hunter streak, but the Hawks still went into halftime with a 39-22 advantage.
The Purple and Gold finished off the Bearcats in the third and fourth quarter, outscoring Baruch 14-4 in the last six minutes of regulation to win it, 74-43.
Jade Aponte led the team with 23 points and seven steals.
Christine Patterson added 13 points and seven rebounds, while
Marlena Budna chipped in 12 points by going 6-6 from the field.
Ashley Arias led the team in rebounds with 11 in the victory.
The Hawks return to action on Monday, February 11 when they host CCNY on senior night.
