New York, N.Y. - Hunter College softball defeated John Jay College on Friday in games with scores of 15-1 and 9-1.
With the wins the Hawks improved to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC play.
Hunter scored 15 runs in the first game alone, led by three hits each from
Alana Vezza and
Caroline Bibula.
Colleen McCoy,
Allyson Bricker and
Gianna Raimondi each followed with one hit each in the victory.
Vezza and Raimondi each had three RBI's, while
Tea Panagakos got the win in the circle, giving up just one hit.
The Purple and Gold then got a second win over the Bloodhounds with a score of 9-1. Raimondi continued to have a solid day at bat, going 3-3 with 2 RBI's. Bricker and
Samantha Molloy each registered two hits for the Hawks in the win. Bibula gave up the just one hit as pitcher.
The team returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to FDU-Florham for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
