Madison, N.J. - Hunter College softball got a win and a loss on Tuesday when they took on FDU-Florham in a doubleheader. The Hawks found a victory in game one with a score of 2-0, before falling 7-2 in the second.
The Hawks are now 7-4 overall this season, while holding onto a 4-0 CUNYAC record.
Sarah Schor got the win in the circle for the Purple and Gold in the first game of the day, giving up four hits, but no runs.
Colleen McCoy and
Kayla Pilotti led the team offensively with two hits each. Pilotti and
Caroline Bibula each recorded hits that allowed runs to score for the Hawks.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Hunter got the lead in the first inning when
Brittney Salvador singled to center field to get one run on the board.
The Hawks continued in the second as
Allyson Bricker found a double to allow
Alana Vezza to score and get 2-0 advantage. The Devils did not score until the fifth inning, trailing by just one run to go into the sixth. In the sixth they tied it up and then pulled ahead, registering six runs to take the game, 7-2.
Pilotti led the squad with two hits in the loss, while Bibula, Vezza, Salvador and Bricker had one hit apiece.
The team returns to action on Thursday when they take on NYU at 4 p.m.
