Huntingdon, PA - Hunter College men's volleyball got two wins on Saturday to capture the 2019 ECAC Championship. The Hawks defeated Ramapo College in three sets to advance to the final, where they took down #1 seeded Juniata College in an exciting five-set match.

Hunter finished off the Roadrunners in the semifinals to start the day, sweeping Ramapo with scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-20. The team recorded a .265 hitting percentage in the victory as Christian Maisonet led the team with nine kills. Blake Hogan posted seven kills and just one error in the win, while Alec Helford registered a team-high 27 assists and six digs.

The Purple and Gold went on to face the Eagles in the championship game, winning the first two sets (25-20, 25-22), dropping the third and fourth (19-25, 19-25) and closing it out in the fifth set (15-13) for the title.

Hunter trailed Juniata 11-8 in the final set of the match, but back-to-back kills from Michael Jazgarski put the Hawks back in the game, trailing by one. A kill from Maisonet gave the Hawks the lead until the Eagles tied it back up at 13.

From there Hunter secured the victory when Maisonet and then Hogan found kills to earn the 15-13 win for the ECAC title.
