New York, N.Y. - Hunter College men's tennis finished up the 2019 campaign with a loss to Baruch College in the CUNYAC semifinals on Thursday.
The Purple and Gold started the match off with a win in doubles competition as
Kyle Burrus and
Omer Khalifa took down the #3 duo of Andrew Givelechian and Hudson Kaylie with scores of 8-7 and 7-5.
Hunter went into singles plays down by two points but fought hard as three matches went into the third set due to ties.
Nasser Ghaffar,
Matthew Solovey and Khalifa were each close to pulling out wins, but Baruch eventually found three victories before the Hawks to take the match, 5-1.
The Hawks wrap up the year with a 4-9 overall record and an even 3-3 record in conference play.
