Purchase, N.Y. - Hunter College women's tennis improved to 2-0 overall this season after getting a win over Purchase College on Saturday with a score of 6-3.
The Hawks took two of the three doubles matches as the duo of
Elaine Zhang and
Ksenia Zevyakina got a 8-0 win at the #2 court.
Mia Slovak and
Laura Alvim then defeated their opponents at #3, 8-1.
The Purple and Gold dropped singles matches at the #1 and #2 spot to allow the Panthers back into the competition, but then got wins at the other four courts. Zhang found a win at #3 singles with a scores of 6-2 and 6-1 to lead the way.

Donise Rose and
Anna Baylosis each picked up wins to confirm the 6-3 match victory for the Hawks.
The team returns to action on Wednesday when they host John Jay College at 12 p.m.
