Women's Volleyball Wins Third Straight; Downs CCNY in Three Sets

Isabelle Lawrence had eight kills to compliment her .898 hitting percentage.

New York, NY - The women's volleyball team continued their winning ways last night as they defeated the Beavers of CCNY in three straight sets to claim their third straight victory. The Hawks move to 5-4 overall and 3-0 in CUNYAC action.
 
It was a lopsided affair with the Purple and Gold posting line scores of 25-9, 25-14 and 25-11 and dominating nearly all facets of the game including holding a 30 to 11 kill advantage, 15 to two service ace upper hand and 13 to three block margin. Additionally, they hit .400 as a team and made just six hitting errors while CCNY had a -.076 hitting percentage with just 11 total kills.
 
Isabelle Lawrence was the game leader in kills after tallying eight on nine attempts for a .898 hitting percentage. Kendra Moore did her part with five while Curran Murray chipped in with four. Overall, 10 Hawks had at least one kill in the match. Summer Magliochetti had the setting duties of the night and registered 13 assists while Mariam Ouattara added three kills, four solo blocks and five service aces.
 
Defensively, Moore and Pearl Mensah led the Purple and Gold with five block assists each while both Lawrence and Beverly Wong chipped in with four a piece. In total, 11 players registered at least one dig with Sunghee Cho earning a team-high five.
 
The Hawks hit the road this weekend to Glendside, Pennsylvania on Saturday for a tri-match. The first will be a match against hosts Arcadia University at 11am with the second match against UC Santa Cruz at 3pm.
