New York, NY - The men's basketball team fell to CUNYAC foe Brooklyn College earlier this evening by a score of 65-55. The Hawks enjoyed a nine point advantage in the second half, but went cold offensively and ultimately fell behind down the stretch, slipping to 1-10 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

Jonah Bevacqua each registered double-doubles. Keener grabbed 11 boards and was the game's high scorer with 24 points; 15 of which came from behind the arc. Meanwhile, Bevacqua chipped in with 12 points and 11 boards in the loss.
Despite seven lead changes in the first half, the Purple and Gold led for most of the time with their largest lead as high as eight points. Despite shooting under 40 percent from the field, on the defensive end, Hunter forced nine turnovers and held the Bulldogs to just 33.3 percent from the floor which resulted in 28-24 lead heading into halftime.
In the second,
John Pelin's squad led by as much as nine points on two different occasions. However, their offense began to go cold while Brooklyn started to heat up. In a span of 7:39, the visitors turned a six point deficit into an 11 point advantage with a crippling 20-3 run. The point differential grew to as much as 12 and proved to be too much to recover from. The final horn sounded with the game in favor of Brooklyn.
Hunter returns to action on Wednesday, January 8 when they host the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island. Tip-off will be at 7pm.
