Propper, Meyers Earn Conference Weekly Titles

Flushing, N.Y.- Gene Propper and Casey Meyers of the Hunter College men's basketball team each earned weekly award titles from the CUNYAC office, announced Monday afternoon. Propper was tabbed Player of the Week while Meyers earned Rookie of the Week honors.

In his collegiate debut against Pratt, Propper stuffed the stat sheet in the Hawk's 128-117 victory over Pratt. In just 14 minutes of play, the rookie guard produced 20 points on 4-5 shooting from the floor, including 4-5 from three. Propper went 8-10 from the free throw line in addition to recording five rebounds, two assists and a game-high seven steals.

The Rookie of the Week selection, Meyers, dropped 19 points on 5-8 shooting to help Hunter to a 128-117 victory over Pratt in the team's first game of the season.

The win marked the most points scored in the Hawks' program since the 1991-92 season. 

The Purple and Gold return to the court Nov. 10 at Mount Saint Vincent. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 p.m.
