BOX SCORE Farmingdale, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's tennis team fell to Farmingdale State in a non-conference matchup, 2-7, this afternoon, marking the team's first fall of the season.
The Hawks (2-1) picked up a point in doubles #1, as Zaara Afida and Angelina Catania defeated the Rams (1-1), 8-4. Freshman, Catania has earned a victory in each competition thus far; two in doubles and one in singles, while Afida picks up her second doubles win.
Junior, Mia Chan also landed her second win of the season, scoring Hunter's second point for the day. In her season debut in singles, Chan knocked off Shari Jackson in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).
The Hawks are slated to return to the court on Sept. 19 to kick off conference play against John Jay College at noon.
