Brooklyn, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's soccer team faced a difficult opponent in New York University this evening, falling to the non-conference competitor by a score of 0-10. The loss set the Purple and Gold back to 0-5, while the Violets advanced to 6-0-1.
Hunter managed just three shots all game, one of which was on goal, registered by Blaise Enama, but was saved by NYU's keeper. Hawks' keeper Antony Simos suffered the loss but was credited with a season-high 13 saves.
NYU got on the board early on in the fifth minute, and continued to do so, tacking on another five by the 27th minute. The Hawks managed to hold the Violets for the remainder of the period, heading into halftime down 0-6. The second period saw another early goal from the home team in the 46th minute. An additional three more points would follow to finish out the game 0-10.
The Hawks continue to search for their first win on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. against Messiah College in Riverdale, N.Y.
