New York- The Hunter College women's basketball team fell to Brooklyn College in a conference contest on Saturday afternoon in the Hunter Sportsplex.
The Hawks (3-9, 0-3 CUNYAC) started off ahead with back to back field goals from
Kimberly Lau. They edged out the Bulldogs (9-2, 4-0 CUNYAC) for the majority of the first quarter, up 15-14 at its conclusion. A 14-2 run by Brooklyn at the end of the second period left Hunter trailing 33-22 as the teams headed into the locker rooms,
Despite knocking down six from the beyond the arc in the second half the Purple and Gold continued to struggle and would not regain the lead for the remainder of the game, ultimately falling 68-50 in the CUNYAC contest.
Lau led the team for the second time this week, registering 14 points in the win. She was followed by
Katie Burke who locked in 13 of her own.
Kristina Krslovic also recorded a season-best 11 rebounds in the loss.
Nia Chung contributed defensively, with trios of blocks and steals.
Hunter returns to the court on Jan. 19 for another CUNYAC matchup against York College at 5:00 p.m. in the Sportsplex.
