New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's soccer team defeated Brooklyn College in a conference matchup at Randall's Island on Saturday afternoon to improve to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the City of New York Athletic Conference.
The Hawks shutout the 0-9-1 (0-2 CUNYAC) Bulldogs to continue to a three game winning streak. Junior,
Luka Khiblashvili, scored his first goal in the Hawk uniform in the 17th minute on a follow up shot to his first attempt.Â
The game went quietly aside from the midfielder's early first half goal. Hunter outshot Brooklyn 10-9 overall, with
Alejandro Sanchez leading the team with a season high of three.
The game saw 17 Hawks get playing time, including six off the bench. Goal keeper,
Antony Simos had a single save in the win to improve to 4-2.Â
Hunter returns to the pitch Wedensday Oct. 4 as conference play continues in the Bronx against Lehman. Kick-off is slated for 4:00 p.m.
