BOX SCORE New York, NY- In the first round of the CUNYAC Men's Soccer championship #3 seed Hunter College advanced over the visiting #6 seed Brooklyn College on Wednesday afternoon. Hunter took home a 3-1 victory as they advance to the Semi-finals with their 8th win of the year.

Bradley Espejo converted a PK to take the Hawks to a 1-0 lead. The PK was earned by
Blaise Enama as he was gathering a long ball the Brooklyn keeper fouled him in the box, awarding Hunter the PK. Three minutes later in the 25th minute Freshman
Alpha Barry scored his 4th goal of the year when he headed a ball into the back of the net on the near post. The service was a corner kick put in the box by
Sammy Ahmed who was awarded the assists for the set piece.
In the 2nd half the Hawks continued to maintain great ball control and possession throughout the match, when Junior midfielder
Alejandro Sanchez put a perfect through ball on the foot of Michael Chibolema who was able to beat the charging goalie on the lower left side to put Hunter up 3-0.
Making a late charge Brooklyns' Danny Tornentes scored a goal in the 79th minute and cut the lead to 3-1. Hunter never allowed Brooklyn to create a serious threat in the final 10 minutes, allowing the Hawks to advance in the tournament.
Hunter will be traveling to the #2 seed Lehman Lightning on Saturday October 29th for a 1pm kickoff in the Bronx. Hunter and Lehman played just three weeks ago on October 5th, with the Lightning taking home a narrow 1-0 win. In the loss the Hawks outshot Lehman 10-7 and drew more fouls than the hosts. The winner of the semi-final match will advance to the CUNYAC championship on November 5th hosted at Queens College at 3pm.
