BOX SCORE New York, NY- Hunter continued it's winning streak extending it to 3 games in a row on the young season and improving to 3-1 overall with a 92039 win over visiting Pratt Institute, Hunter jumped out to an early 11-2 lead and never looked back in the non conference win that was the first home game of the 22-23 season for the Hawks.
Leading the way with continued hot shooting from the weekend was sophomore guard
Erin Cosio who had a game high and career high 21 points on 6-9 shooting overall, 5-8 from 3. The sharp shooting New Jersey native has 11 three's on the season and is a perfect 12-12 from the line. Senior
Kimberly Lau continued her strong senior campaign with 16 points on an efficient shooting night knocking down 4 threes, and including 4 steals.
Katie Burke and Alex Charles rounded out the double digit scoring with 11 and 10 respectively. Alexa Charles was 5-6 from the floor and
Katie Burke scored 7 of her 11 from the line, going 7-7 from the line.
Sophomore Eliah Yode filled up the stat sheet with 9 points and 4 steals in a season high 20 minutes, while Freshman Kennedy DeRuy chipped in with 6 points, a game high 4 assists and 11 rebounds. The Hawks as a whole had 19 assists, and shot 45% from the floor, while hitting 10 three's, defensivly they had 19 steals, and held Pratt to 22% from the filed and 6% from three point range. A complete team effort the hawks had 43 points off the bench, with 11 of the 13 Hawks who played scoring,
Hunter returns to action this weekend when they host the Hunter Tip Off tournament on Friday and Saturday November 18th and 19th. On froday night the tournament tips off at 5pm with Umass- Boston playing Westfield State. At 7pm Hunter hosts Lesley. The consulation game is on Saturday at 1pm, and Championship at 3pm.
