New York, NY - The women's basketball team finished the regular season with a 9-13 overall mark to go along with their 6-6 record in league action. It was good enough to secure the #5 seed in the eight-team tournament. They will be facing #4 York College on the Cardinal's home court on Sunday, February 20 at 12:30pm. The winner will advance to play in the quarterfinal round.

With both Hunter and York having equal CUNYAC records as York, seeding for the #4 and #5 seed came down to the tie-breaking criteria; six of them to be exact. However, in a rare occurrence, both teams were equally tied in each of the criteria which resulted in moving to the seventh and final tiebreak; a coin toss. The outcome favored the Cardinals and awarded them the higher seed and home court advantage.

The top seed went to Brooklyn College, followed by John Jay and Baruch. Rounding out the bottom three teams in order are Lehman, CCNY and Medgar. The matchups for the tournament are as follows:
