Patchogue, NY - The men's tennis team continued their winning ways as they blanked the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's of Long Island by a score of 9-0. The Hawks improve to 2-0 on the year and 1-0 in CUNYAC action.
Jairo Baquero Molina and
Nicholas Caicedo took care of their opponents at #1 Doubles with an 8-2 victory over their challengers. At third doubles,
Anil Singh and
John Devakanmalai had the same outcome, an 8-2 win while
Justin Pazmino and
Kenneth Del Cid were victorious 8-1 over Tyler Brock and Dylan Trude at #2 Doubles.
With a 3-0 lead, the Hawks began the singles portion of the match and wound up sweeping all six.
Molina took care of William Vita at top flight singles while Caicedo defeated Cory Stengel in sets of 6-3, 6-1 at second singles. Pazmino emerged victoriously over Trude at third singles, 6-1, 6-2 while Singh added Hunter's seventh win with a 6-0, 6-3 performance at fourth singles. Rounding out the sweep was Del Cid winning 6-2, 6-1 and
Raymond Len blanking Marcin Taramena in identical 6-0 sets at #6 singles.
The Hawks return to action on Thursday, March 31 when they travel to Brooklyn for a conference contest against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College.. It is slated for a noon start time.
