Bronx, NY - The men's tennis team earned their first conference victory earlier this afternoon after defeating the Lightning of Lehman College by a score of 8-1. With the win, the Purple and Gold move to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in league action.

Christopher Popovic and Jairo Baquero Molina were played to the brink in an exciting #1 doubles matchup against Steven Forte and Oscar Garcia. The Hawks prevailed in a tight 8-7 (7-4) match. Meanwhile, at second and third doubles, the duos of Justin Pazmino/Kenneth Del Cid and Nicholas Caicedo and Anil Singh won handily, 8-0 and 8-1 respectively.

In singles action, each Hunter player won by a significant margin with the exception of Popovic who was out-played at top flight action against Forte, losing 2-6, 0-6. Molina took care of Garcia at #2 singles, 6-1, 6-3 while Caicedo at #3 singles took the victory, 6-0, 6-3. Pazmino and Singh blanked their opponents in both sets at #4 and #6 singles respectively with Raymond Len nearly holding his opponent scoreless, winning 6-1, 6-0.
