Purchase, NY - The men's tennis team broke a two-match skid and got back on the winning track after coming home with a 6-3 victory to SUNY Purchase on the road in a non-conference contest. The Hawks record moves to 3-2 overall with the win.

Nicholas Caicedo and Anil Singh blanked their opponents at third doubles to get the Hawks on the board first. Justin Pazmino and Kenneth Del Cid followed suit at second doubles with an 8-4 victory while the duo of Christopher Popovic and Jairo Baquero Molina fell by a score of 8-3 at top flight doubles.

In singles action, it was the bottom four singles players that won the match for Hunter. Popovic was stopped in 6-2, 6-1 sets at top flight singles while Baquero Molina fell in a tightly contested second singles match against Ben Joory, 7-5, 7-6.

However, Pazmino and Del Cid beat their opponents with identical scores of 6-1, 6-0 at four and six singles respectively. Meanwhile, Singh came away with a win against Fredrick Kaden, 6-4, 6-1 at fifth singles. Putting the final touches on the board was Caicedo who took Simon Montalvo to a 7-5 first set win and then polished it off with a score of 6-2 at #3 singles.

The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, April 12 when they take on the Cardinals of York College in Jamaica, NY. First serve will be at 3pm.
