Mahwah, N.J.- The Hunter College women's tennis team secured at 5-4 win over non-conference opponent, Ramapo College this afternoon. The Hawks now are at 2-0 overall to start the season.
Angelina Catania had another impressive performance, winning in second singles in straight sets (6-4, 6-1). Sevinch Rakhmatdinov picked up a win in no. 4 doubles, bouncing back from a dropped first set to take the match in 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Anna Chapko dominated in no. 6 singles for the Hawks winning in straight sets including a bagel (6-1, 6-0).
Later, Rakhmatdinov teamed up with
Nikhar Rathi to take no. 2 doubles, 8-4, followed by
Mia Chan and
Lily O'Heir who defeated their opponent, 8-6, in no. 3 doubles.
