Hunter takes home a 3-0 win over William Patterson

Wayne, NJ- The Hunter Women's Volleyball team takes home a straight set victory over William Patterson 25-14, 25-20, 25-19.  The Hawks have proven to be road warriors with 8 of their first 10 matches being on the road, this was a game originally scheduled to be a home game but had to be switched to New Jersey,

In a very balanced attack offensively and defensively, the Hawks used their depth to their advantage. As a team Hunter racked up 13 aces, and 41 digs to go along with 7 blocks, and 27 kills, the hawks also played 14 players in the victory.  Pacing the offense again with 15 of the 25 assists on the night was freshman setter Bethany Tomaneng, the San Diego native also chipped in with 8 digs.  Leading the back line defense was libero Nadia Lau, the senior from Ossining, NY had a game high 15 digs for the Hawks.  

Senior Ariana Silva, from Colonia, NJ sparked the Hunter offense with 7 of the teams 13 aces.  At the net the Hawks captain and middle blocker Mariam Ouattara had 4 kills to go along with 2 solo blocks,a nd 4 block assists.  Junior outside Tionna Moss had a team high 7 kills, she has led the Hawks in kills in 8 of the 10 matches so far this year.

Freshman outside Dibjot Kaur took full advantage of her return to her home state when she picked up 4 kills on 7 swings hitting a team high .429.   Hunter will return to action on Tuesday October 4th as the open up CUNYAC play at a tri-match at Brooklyn College.  The Hawks will take on York College at 4pm, and host and raining CUNYAC champions Brooklyn College at 6pm.
