Men's Soccer Falls to Albertus Magnus

New Haven, Conn.- Blaise Enama logged the Hunter College men's soccer team first goal of the 2022 season against Albertus Magnus on Sunday evening.

The Hawks (0-3) fell, 2-1 in the drawn out match as the game had to be delayed over an hour and a half after the first 15 minutes of play. 

Albertus (2-0-1) took the first lead of the game in the fourth minute, scoring off of a corner-kick. From there, Blaise Enama recorded the Purple and Gold's first tally of the season as he tied the game at 1-1 by the 13th minute after using a Bradley Espejo pass to just beat the AMC keeper into the middle of the net.

After the delay of game, the Falcons took the lead in the match in the 51st minute, scoring on a free kick over the outstretched hands of Hunter's goa, to give the home team a 2-1 advantage.

Hunter logged several attempts, including four shots and a corner kick in an attempt to come back but were unable to find the back of the net again.

Overall, Hunter was outshot 15-11 by the Falcons but were able to match attempts on goal with four. Sammy Ahmed led the team with five attempts, followed by B. Enama with four.

Hunter  continues non-conference play in a cross-town matchup against New York University on Wednesday Sept. 7th at 7:00 p.m.
