BOX SCORE Farmingdale, NY- The Hunter College Hawks improved to 2-0 with a 3-1 win over host Farmingdale State tonight. The Hawks took the first set 25-13, FSU battled back and took set number 2 18-25. Hunter took home sets 3 and 4 25-18, and 25-19 to secure the victory.
In a balanced effort on offense and defense, Freshman setter
Bethany Tomaneng paced Hunter with 26 assists and 5 kills. She spread those assists all across the front line as 7 Hawks recorded a kill. The middles once again supplied a powerful punch with Senior
Mariam Ouattara recording 7 kills on 14 swings, and freshman
Lily Mattison led Hunter with 8 kills on 20 swings. On the outside
Erin Dugan put down 6 additional kills.
The back line defense was excellent once again tonight as the Hawks had 11 players pick up a dig tonight, leading the way for Hunter was
Ariana Silva with 13 digs, Tomaneng filled the stat sheet up with 12 digs, Sophomore Liberla
Erin Hyman had 9 digs, with
Kayla Treadwell and Dugan picking up 7 and 6 respectfully.
Hunter continues it road trip on Thursday night as they travel to Ramapo College first serve is set for 7pm.
