New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's basketball team overcame Lehman College in a conference game on Tuesday evening as the Hawks set a record with 23 three-pointers in the game.
Following the win, the Purple and Gold improved to 6-12 overall and 3-5 in CUNYAC play.
Jack Meyers aided the Hawks record breaking night, shooting 5-8 from three to contribute to his 17 total points. Meyers also grabbed five rebounds in the win.
Jeremy Montrose added 20 points to lead the team, with four three's of his own as he produced five steals for the second game in a row.
Casey Meyers tacked on another four three's while
Jared Brown added a three.
Luka Jakic had a pair of threes of his own in yet another double-double performance, as the junior grabbed 10 rebounds with 17 points.
The Hawks shot 38.2% overall and 34.3% from beyond the arc. Although the Lightening shot at least .5 from each, the Hawks led with 23 second chance points and 38 points off of turnovers as they grabbed 22 steals compared to Lehman's nine and were able to overwhelm their opponent to grab another home win.
Hunter is slated to return to the court this Saturday, Jan. 28 as they travel to John Jay. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
