Hawks Split at Stockton Trimatch

Galloway, N.J.- The Hunter College women's volleyball team split at the Stockton Trimatch on Saturday afternoon, falling 1-3 to hosts Stockton but closed out the day with a 3-0 victory over Mount Saint Mary.

Hunter started the day against Stockton with a 3-1 four set match, (26-28, 19-25, 25-18, 13-25).

The match saw intense action from both sides. Pearl Mensah, despite facing strong opposition, managed to secure two points for her team. Liliana Khidr contributed with one point, and Kayla Treadwell provided exceptional defense with five digs. Bethany Tomaneng displayed her versatility, securing four kills and 14 assists, while Tionna Moss and Izabella Williams added 9 points each. Tessa Winkleman stood out with 14 points, despite facing tough opposition. 

The Hawks were able to bounce back with a 3-0 win over Mount Saint Mary. The match began with Hunter securing a hard-fought first set victory, with a score of 25-23. The second set followed a similar pattern, ending in favor of the Purple and Gold  with a score of 25-19. The third set once again saw Hunter in control, as they closed the match with a final set score of 25-20. 

Mensah and  Khidr each contributed 3 points, and Kiara Abreu orchestrated the offense with 21 assists.  Winkleman was the standout player for Hunter, amassing a remarkable 19 points and 7 digs, showcasing her formidable attacking abilities. Erin Flores and Tomaneng provided additional support, and the team's solid defense was evident with a total of 49 digs.
