New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's basketball team picked up its first win of season in non-conference match against Pratt. With te 88-54 win the Hawks advance to 1-1 while the Canoneers drop to 0-4. 

The first quarter ended with a tied score of 20-20, but Hunter took control in the following quarters, outscoring Pratt in each period. 

Hunter's offense showcased a balanced attack, with multiple players contributing both in scoring and other statistical categories. The Hawks were led by Alexa Charles, who contributed 25 points, and six steals while grabbing five rebounds.  Erin Cosio and Katie Burke played crucial roles, with Cosio adding 19 points, including four three-pointers, and Burke recording a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

On the defensive end, Hunter displayed dominance with 42 total rebounds and 19 steals. The team's effective field goal percentage was 44.7%, and they capitalized on turnovers, scoring 36 points off Pratt's mistakes.

The game saw four lead changes and was tied four times, showcasing some competitive moments. Hunter excelled in points in the paint (42) and fast-break points (22).

Hunter continues its season on Friday night in the Hunter Tip-off Tournament where they will face off against Farmingdale State, followed by Saint Joseph's University on Saturday.
