BOX SCORE New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College women's basketball team defeated St. Joseph's Brooklyn at home in their second game of the Tip-Off Tournament. The Hawks (2-2) edged out St. Joseph's (1-3), 85-72.

Saint Joseph's took an early lead in the first period of play but the Hawks answered in the second, outscoring the Bears, 21-18, cutting the lead to just one as the team teams entered the intermission with St. Joseph's slim 46-45 lead.

The third quarter proved pivotal as Hunter seized control of the game. Erin Cosio hit a crucial three-pointer as the Hawks outscored St. Joseph's 21-9 in the third quarter,  to establish a 66-55 lead. The Purple and Gold held on for the final quarter of play to defeat the Bear's 85-72.

The Hawks dominate performance showcased three double-doubles for the team. Alexa Charles with her second double-double of the season, led all players with 36 points and 21 rebounds. Katie Burke netted 18 points with 11 rebounds while Elliah Yode logged a 14-14 double-double off the bench, scoring all but two of Hunter's bench points as they completely silenced the Bear's subs.

The Hawks shot 37% from the field, just above the Bears' 35.4%, despite falling short 19.4% from three, while St. Joe's averaged 25.9% from beyond the arc. Off the glass, Hunter dominated grabbing 75 compared to the visitor's 39.

Hunter returns to the court on Nov. 21st at they travel to Steven's for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off.
