Bethlehem, Pa.- In a closely contested match up at Johnston Hall the Hunter College men's basketball team faced off against Penn St.-Behrend in the Moravian Tournament. Despite a valiant effort, Hunter fell short as Penn St.-Behrend secured the win with a final score of 77-65, with the Hawks dropped to 3-9 as Penn. St-Behrend improved to 7-4.
The game began with high-intensity action, and both teams traded baskets throughout the first half. Penn St.-Behrend held a narrow lead at the break, with a score of 41-37. T
The first half saw efficient shooting Hunter at an impressive 57.69%. Despite a second-half comeback attempt by Hunter, Penn St.-Behrend held on to their lead, closing out the game with a 77-65 victory. Points in the paint were a significant factor, with Hunter accumulating 30 points in the paint compared to Penn St.-Behrend's 22. However, Penn St.-Behrend capitalized on points off turnovers, scoring 26 compared to Hunter's 11.
Kareem Hunt was named to the All-Tournament as he led all scorers with 25 points adding four steals and three rebounds.
Luka Jakic has another double-double performance with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Corey Jones Jr. also had a significant impact as he added 13 points.
