Hunter Drops One Against Manhattanville

New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's basketball team dropped a 74-62 decision to Manhattanville at home on Monday evening.

With the non-conference loss, the Hawks fall to 2-6 overall, while Manhattanville moves to 5-2. The Valiants took control in the first half of play, outscoring Hunter 46-23, however the Hawks came out of the intermission ready with a 14-3 run to start the half led by Kareem McDonald's six points, as they cut the lead to 11. Back to back layups by Luka Jakic in the sixth minute would put the Hawks trailing by single digits, their closest of the half but Hunter was unable to stay close. Despite outscoring the Valiants 39-28 in the second half, the Hawks were unable to overcome the early first half lead and ultimately fell 74-62.

Luka Jakic led the team with 17 points and 14 rebounds, showcasing a double-double performance. Kareem McDonald and Jack Meyers also made notable contributions with 11 and 8 points, respectively. Casey Meyers grabbed a season-high four steals on the night, contributing to the team's 10 total and 25 points off of turnovers.

The Hawks return to the court on Dec. 9 as they travel to Purchase College for a 4:00 pm tip off.
