Alexa Charles had a thrilling performance with 30 points.
The first quarter saw Hunter (4-6) struggling to find their rhythm, shooting 25% from the field. Merchant Marine (5-2) took an early lead, ending the quarter with a score of 20-11. Alexa Charles contributed significantly, scoring 14 points in the first quarter alone.
The second quarter was marked by improved shooting from the Hawks with a 40% field goal percentage. However, Merchant Marine maintained their lead, heading into halftime with a score of 36-27.
In the third period, Hunter continued to battle, shooting over 42% from the field. Despite their efforts, Merchant Marine held their ground, maintaining a 52-46 lead heading into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter witnessed a competitive exchange of baskets, but Merchant Marine secured their victory with a final score of 73-63. Charles finished the game with an impressive stat line, recording 30 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block. Erin Cosio also had an impressive night, with 18 points and five rebounds.
