Bellerose, NY- Hunter sweeps the host college York improving to 6-2 in the conference and 11-21 overall. Hunter had 33 hits and 39 runs in the two games. Hunter pitchers Alyssa Curial and
Brianna Musco combined for a no hitter. The Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Manhattanville in Purchase, NY.
Game 1:
Sophomore second baseman
Jessica Fowler led the hawks going 4-4 with 4 rbi's and 4 runs scored. Pitcher
Alyssa Curiale went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 3 runs batted in. She also had a complete game with 11 strikeouts with no walks and only giving up 3 hits. Senior Kayla Pillotti started in center field for the first time this season and went 3 for 5 with 3 runs and an RBI also. The Hawks scored 4 in the top of the first and never looked back, the game was over after 5 innings of play with Hunter up by more than 8 runs.
Game 2:
The hawks heald York hitless in game two.
Alyssa Curiale started in the circle in game 2 going the first two inings and was perfect while stricking out 3.
Brianna Musco came in relief and preserved the no hitter going three innings with 3 strickeouts and 2 walks. Curiale also led the hawks at the plate going 3 for 3 with 5 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Adrianna Ramirez continued to hit the ball hard also going 3 for 3 with a walk, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI's.
Paige Witalec scored 3 runs with 1 hit and 3 walks to keep the pressure on the defense all game.
Hunter returns to action on Wednesday April 26th when they travel to Purchase, NY to take on Manhattanville, first pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
