Riverdale, NY- The Hunter College Men's soccer team continues to look for their first win of the season after another hard fought game tonight. The Hawks dropped a 2-0 decision to the Dolphins of Mt. St. Vincent on their Riverdale campus.
Hunter's back line and keeper kept the game within reach despite the pressure applied throughout the match from the Dolphins. Junior Keeper Matt Heimowitz made 6 saves while facing 21 total shots, with 8 on frame. The Hawks did win the possession battle maintaining control for 53% of the match but could not connect to put pressure on goal. The Hawks were out shot 21-11 over and 8-3 with shots on goal. Hunter earned 2 corner kicks, but gave up 7 corners to Mt. St. Vincent.
Hunter will try to end the slide when they travel to another Skyline school on Saturday taking on SUNY Old Westbury at Panther park with kickoff scheduled for 11:00 AM.
