Camden, NJ- The women's Volleyball team dropped a non-conference match in Camden, NJ tonight when the Hawks traveled to play Rutgers-Camden. The hawks lost a tought 4 set match (16-25, 25-27, 25-20, 23-25). Hunter looks to bounce back when they open CUNYAC conference play on Saturday September 9th when hosting Brooklyn College and CCNY.
The Hawks led in several statistical categories but they were not able to play clean enough to secure the key points for the win tonight.
Bethany Tomaneng once again ran the offense with 38 assists, she also picked up 7 kills and 9 digs to help the Hawks on both sides. Senior outside
Tionna Moss and Sophomore outside Izabella Willaims both continued their strong starts picking up 11 kills each, and hitting 233 and 111 respectfully.
Kiara Abreu picked up 2 of the teams 5 aces, while Senior Middle
Pearl Mensah had 2 of the teams 6 blocks.
Erin Dugan patroled the back line and led the Hawks with 13 digs. As a team Hunter had 2 more kills than camden 52-50, 5 more digs 53-48 and 11 more swings 151-140. But that was not enough to over come Camden and take home the critical points.
