Hawks Grab Sixth Straight Win in 3-0 Victory Over York

New York, N.Y.- THe Hunter College women's volleyball team continued its six game win streak with a commanding sweep over York College, winning 25-11, 25-15, 25-6. The Hawks, now 13-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference play, controlled every aspect of the game from start to finish at home on Friday evening.

Amina Moummad was the offensive powerhouse for the Hawks, tallying 10 kills on 18 attempts for a .389 hitting percentage. She was relentless at the net and helped pace Hunter's offense. Desiree Morales was another standout, delivering a well-rounded performance with 8 kills and a remarkable 10 service aces, contributing a total of 18 points. Her consistent and aggressive serving kept York off balance throughout the match.

Liliana Khidr was lethal from the service line as well, adding 11 aces to her tally and finishing the game with 15 points. Her accuracy and ability to put York on the defensive allowed the Hawks to capitalize on transition plays. Setter Xheni Doci orchestrated the offense effectively, dishing out 17 assists and adding 2 aces of her own.

Hunter's defensive presence was just as impressive. The team racked up 12 digs and constantly pressured York into errors, holding them to a -.280 hitting percentage. The Hawks' front row was quick to shut down York's offensive attempts, and with steady contributions from all players, they cruised through the match. Overall, the Purple and Gold  posted a .293 hitting percentage, with 30 kills on 58 attempts.

The Hawks will return to the court tomorrow at 11 a.m. as they host Kean in a nonconference showdown.
