Hunter Snags 3-1 Win at Ramapo

Mahwah, N.J.- The Hunter College women's volleyball team continued its impressive season with a 3-1 victory on the road against Ramapo on Thursday evening. With the win Hunter improves to 15-5 overall, while the tme team fell to 2-13. Dominating from the first serve, Hunter claimed the first two sets with identical scores of 25-18 before dropping the third, 17-25, and closing out the match in the fourth with a tight 27-25 win.

Amina Moummad led the charge for Hunter with a powerful all-around performance, notching 10 kills, three service aces, and contributing nine digs. Her hitting percentage of .231 highlighted her efficiency on the attack, especially when her team needed key points.

Izabella Williams matched Moummad with 10 kills, though she faced more resistance at the net, as she tallied six errors on 40 attempts. Nevertheless, her strong presence on defense with 15 digs added critical support to keep Hunter in control during long rallies.

Bethany Tomaneng orchestrated the offense masterfully, amassing 35 assists while adding 13 digs of her own. Simone McIntyre's eight kills and three service aces were pivotal, as she came up clutch during key moments, particularly in the fourth set where her presence on defense shined with 12 digs.

The Hawks defensive effort was spearheaded by libero Erin Dugan, who posted a team-high 24 digs and she made crucial plays to keep the ball alive and stymie Ramapo's attempts to shift moment,

Despite a brief stumble in the third set, Hunter regained control to secure the road win.

The Hawks return to the court on Oct. 19 as they head to Rutgers-Camden for a trimatch. The Purple and Gold with face Delaware Valley at 1:00 p.m., followed by Rutgers-Camden at 3:00 p.m.
