New York, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's soccer team hosted CCNY in its final home game of the regular season, as they fell 0-1 to CCNY as the Hawks fall to 4-11-1 overall, and 2-6 in conference play, while the. Beavers remain undefeated at 5-0 in league competition (5-5-3 overall). The Purple and Gold managed six shots overall, with two on goal, showing moments of attacking promise but were ultimately unable to capitalize.
Despite the loss, the Hawks held their annual Senior Day ceremony following the match, as they highlighted Bradley Espejo, Robin Sebastian, Kenneth Ortiz, Conor Sullivan, and Matthew Heimowitz.
Goalkeeper Matthew Heimowitz was crucial for Hunter, playing the full 90 minutes and making a key save late in the second half to keep the game within reach. His composure between the posts helped the Hawks withstand multiple attacks from the opposition, particularly in the second half, where CCNY applied heavy pressure.
In the midfield, Bradley Espejo was a standout, creating opportunities and testing the CCNY defense with three shots, including one on target.
