Flushing, N.Y.- The Hunter college men's tennis team secured an astounding 9-0 victory against York College on the road on Friday afternoon.
The Hawks started the day off strong with dominant doubles play. Anil Singh and Alexander Hagui teamed up at no. 1 doubles for an 8-1 win, while both the no. 2 and 3 pairs secured 8-0 victories to silence the Cardinals, starting with Raymond Leu in tandem with Tyler Wood in no. 2 doubles, followed by Ralph Go and Ali Elshehawey in the third slot.
Hunter's momentum continued into singles matches, as Hagui took no. 1 (6-1, 6-0), followed by Singh at the no. 2 slot (6-0, 6-2) and Leu at no. 3. Elshehaey, Wood, and Schwyzer took the remaining three singles matches to close out the 9-0 win for the Hawks.
