Purchase, N.Y.- In a hard-fought battle on the courts, the Hunter College men's tennis team faced off against Purchase College in a nail-biting match that ended with a 5-4 victory for Purchase.

The doubles matches set the tone for the day's competition, with Purchase claiming the early advantage by securing victories in the first two doubles matches. Purchase's duos displayed strong performances, taking the #1 doubles match 8-4 and the #2 doubles match 8-2.

However, Hunter's Tyler Wood and Sandro Schwyzer rallied for the team, notching a win in the #3 doubles with a decisive score of 8-1.

As the teams transitioned to singles play, Purchase maintained their momentum. Purchase continued their strong performance, securing victories in the #1 and #2 singles matches.

Hunter College fought back with a resilient effort in the lower singles positions. Ali Elshehawey of Hunter secured a commanding win in the #4 singles, and Tyler Wood continued Hunter's momentum in the #5 singles.

In the final singles match of the day, Hunter's Sandro Schwyzer delivered a stellar performance, securing a win for Hunter.

Despite Hunter's valiant efforts, Purchase College emerged victorious with a final score of 5-4. The match showcased the competitive spirit and skill of both teams, with Purchase ultimately edging out Hunter in a closely contested battle. The Hawks continue their season on April 23rd at St. Joseph's Long Island. First serve is slated for 4:30 p.m.
