NEW HAVEN, CONN.- The Hunter College women's outdoor track and field team continued it season at the Wilton Wright Invitational this weekend, hosted by Southern Connecticut State University. The Hawks posted multiple conference-best performances at the meet.
Jamie Risso continued to impress in the field, recording the top marks in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) standings in both the long jump and triple jump. She placed seventh overall in the long jump with a mark of 5.29m and took third overall in the triple jump with a distance of 10.83m.
Shannon Ferri posted the No. 1 time in CUNYAC in the 1500m race, placing fourth overall with a time of 5:32.08.
In the 400m,
Salma El Bezzaoui led the Purple and Gold with a time of 1:15.52, followed by Gabriella Miranda at 1:17.88 and Katherin Cuautli at 1:19.89.
Becky Li represented Hunter in the 100m dash with a time of 14.24, while
Melanie Liu crossed the tape in 3:05.18 in the 800m. In the 100H,
Enalyse Pacheco finished in 21.11 and also led the Hawks in the javelin with a throw of 27.2m.
In distance events,
Samantha Suriel ran the 5000m in 21:26.31.
Emma Kilroy led Hunter in the 10,000m with a time of 50:14.70, followed by
Irving Jiang (55:09.46) and
Rawnaa Elshita (1:01:37.28).
The Hawks return to action on April 18 when they travel to Widener University for the Paul Donohue Invitational.
