BRONX, N.Y. - The Hunter College women's basketball team held off a late charge to secure a hard-fought 78-74 road victory over Lehman College on the road.

Hunter (12-5, 5-1 CUNYAC) built early momentum behind a strong first half, taking a 44-33 lead into the break after shooting better than 64 percent over the opening two quarters. The Hawks maintained their composure through multiple lead changes in the second half, answering each Lehman push with timely baskets and stops down the stretch.

Alexa Charles paced the Hawks with 30 points, adding 13 rebounds and four steals while logging the full 40 minutes. She knocked down four three-pointers and consistently came up big in key moments as Hunter regained the lead for good in the final minute.

Gianna Henriques turned in a dominant interior performance, finishing with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Makkedah Murray added 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Off the bench, Mia Fuller provided a crucial spark, scoring 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting while going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, including a pair of clutch triples late in the fourth quarter.

Hunter shot 47.5 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range, while holding a 47-35 edge on the glass. The Hawks also converted 12 of 16 free throws, sealing the win in the closing seconds.
