NEW YORK- The Hunter College women's basketball team rolled to an 81-53 road win against Baruch College at the Battle of Lexington on Thursday evening at the ARC Arena.

Alexa Charles scored 29 points and Gianna Henriques added 20 as Hunter (16-6, 9-2 CUNYAC) used a decisive second quarter to take control, outscoring the Bearcats (9-13, 5-6 CUNYAC) 27-15 to build a 46-31 halftime lead. The Hawks shot 11-for-19 (57.9%) in the period and turned defense into offense throughout the night, finishing with 32 points off turnovers.

Charles finished 12-for-29 from the field and knocked down three 3-pointers, while also coming up with eight steals to fuel Hunter's transition attack. Henriques was efficient inside, going 9-for-13 with 22 rebounds, as the Hawks owned the glass 46-37 and piled up 44 points in the paint.

Kennedy DeRuy chipped in 13 points, six rebounds, and a pair of steals while  Makkedah Murray controlled the pace with eight assists and 11 rebounds.

Hunter continued to apply pressure after halftime, holding the opposition to just seven points in the fourth quarter to comfortably close out the conference road victory.
