Hunter Sweeps Baruch in Regular Season Home Finale

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Hunter College men's volleyball team closed out its home schedule with a sweep of conference rival, Baruch College, 25-14, 25-22, 25-22. With the victory, Hunter improves to 16-8 overall and 5-3 in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play, while Baruch falls to 9-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

The Hawks set the tone early, hitting for .391 in the opening set while limiting Baruch to a negative hitting percentage en route to a 25-14 win. The second set was a back-and-forth battle featuring 20 tie scores, but the Purple and Gold stayed focused down the stretch to take a 2-0 lead.

Hunter carried that momentum into the third, recording 15 kills and holding off a late push to secure the sweep. Ahmed Mohamed led the Hawks with 12 kills and three service aces, while Sebastian Gomez added 10 kills on a .389 hitting percentage. Wyatt Kotuk contributed five kills and three service aces.Emmanuel Cochran and K-Ci Akwandoh each added four kills, with Cochran also anchoring the net with five block assists. Wesley Stubbs orchestrated the offense with 30 assists and nine digs, while the Hawks totaled 34 assists and hit .289 as a team.

Defensively, Hunter recorded 10 blocks and 30 digs, with strong contributions across the lineup as the Hawks controlled both the net and service line with seven aces.

The win marks Hunter's final home match of the regular season. The Hawks return to the court for the final game of the regular-season on March 31 at CCNY. First-serve is slated for 7 p.m.
