PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Hunter College women's swimming team delivered an impressive performance at the Metropolitan Swimming and Diving (METS) Championship earlier this season, with four All-Conference selection.
Grace Valette led the Purple and Gold, earning First Team honors for her first place individual performances in the 500 freestyle, where she touched the wall in 5:22.73, setting a new program record for Hunter. She also took first in the 100 backstroke, with her time of 1:00.38.
Valette also was named to the second team for her role on Hunter's 800 freestyle relay team, alongside Cara Chang, Parvinabonu Makhmadalieva and Lian Winter, who took home silver with a team time of 8:37.00. Winter earned Second Team All-Conference honors for her performance in the 200 butterfly, as the senior touched the wall in 2:37.28, placing second.
The Hawks finished the meet fifth overall as a team closing out a successful first season for head coach Marc Gershel.
