Hawks Down Saint Joseph’s 57-38

New York, NY – The Hunter women's swimming team picked up a victory on Friday behind the swimming of sophomore Marian Wu (Flushing, NY/Stuyvesant) who had two first place finishes on the day, taking the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:20.80 and finished the 100-yard butterfly in 1:12.54 during a 57-38 win over Saint Joseph's College during the 2008 Hunter Homecoming Celebration at the North Pool.

In her only individual meet of the night, junior the two-time CUNYAC swimmer of the week Heather Alvord (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook), took first in the 200-yard IM, finishing almost a full ten seconds ahead of the second place swimmer from Saint Joseph's. Freshman Gloria Reyna (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) was the other Hawk to finish first in an individual event, winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.08.

After tonight's meet, the Hawks improve to 3-2 overall and will return to the pool on Saturday, when they compete at the ECAC Championships in East Meadow, NY.
