Box Score - Medgar Evers
On September 16 and 17, the women's tennis team had two conference matches against The City College of New York and Medgar Evers respectively. The Hawks rolled in fashion as they defeated each team 9-0 to advance their record to 6-0, 4-0 CUNYAC.
In the first match against the Beavers, both Jane Selegean and Arielle Kamin won their matches 6-1, 6-0 in first and second singles respectively. Stefanie Smith, Ericka Jaramillo, Katyhara De Los Santos and Jessica Yi rounded out the final four singles matches as they each won. In doubles, Selegean and Jaramillo teamed up and won handily 8-1 while the team of Kamin and Smith, and De Los Santos and Yi each won 8-0.
The following day against the Cougars, the Hawks played Jennifer Kraham in second singles and Angelique Petropouleas at sixth singles while the rest of the line up remained unchanged as each girl swept their respective opponents 6-0. The Hawks took each of the three doubles matches to round out their second straight 9-0 match.
The women's tennis team returns to action tomorrow, September 21 as they take on Baruch in their first home game of the season. The match will be played at the USTA Tennis Center in Flushing, New York and is slated for a 3:30 pm start.
