NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter College men's soccer team defeated the City College of New York, 1-0 to win their opening CUNY Athletic Conference match of the 2011 season.

In the 56th minute, Erick Estrada headed in the only goal of the match off of a corner kick by Saif Zureikat, one of only three corner kicks in the match for the Hawks. Estrada has now scored the game-winning goal in the last two matches for the Hawks. Goaltender Zade Haobsh earned his second consecutive shutout, making seven saves. Hunter edged CCNY in shots 18-17, while the Beavers took twice as many corner kicks as the Hawks (6-3).

Hunter (2-4-1, 1-0 CUNYAC) returns to action this Saturday, when they host CUNYAC rival Medgar Evers at 10:00am at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, NY.
