Dolphins prove to be too strong for the Hawks

BOX SCORE

STATEN ISLAND, NY- On Friday, October 6th the Hunter College men's soccer team travelled to Staten Island to take on the Dolphins of CSI in a conference match-up.  The Dolphins proved to be too strong for the Hawks, dominating the field in the first half by scoring 4 goals in the first 40 minutes of play.  With the loss, the Hawks record falls to 2-9-2, while the Dolphins lift theirs to 7-7.

CSI scored their first goal at the 15:24 mark, when the Dolphin's Nedgy Nazon intercepted keeper's Emmanuel Aprilakis' pass to give his team an easy 1-0 lead.  A few minutes later, CSI's Brandon Cadmen played a free kick from the right of the goal into the box, which his teammate Horation Reid was able to kick into the Hawk net, giving the Dolphins a 2-0 edge.  After that, CSI scored two goals only 1:10 apart.

The Hawks continued to fight back, with freshman Jack Andrade leading his team with 2 shots.  Although he allowed 4 goals, Aprilakis had 7 saves, with 2 of them being point-blank shots.  Hunter was outshot 20-5, with zero being on goal.

The Hawks are back on the field on Wednesday, October 10th when they host the Cardinals of York College at Randall's Island.  The game is set for a 5 p.m. start.
