UNION, NJ- The Hunter College women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season yesterday, falling 6-3 to the Cougars of Kean University. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 1-1 while the Cougars improve to 2-1.
The women found themselves in the hole early as first and doubles fell 2-8, and 4-8. The Hawks lone doubles win came at third, where sophomore
Stephanie Ahwireng and freshman Angelina Oshereard defeated Erin Hendricks and Samirah Jackson 9-7.
Hunter's two singles wins came from sophomore
Gina Yeo, who defeated Jaelynn Lee at second singles 10-6, and Ahwireng who dominated at fourth singles besting Ericka Tapia 8-5.
The Hawks are back in action when they travel to Patchouge, NY to take on the Golden Eagles of St. Josephs College on Saturday, September 15th.
