Swimming Tops York, 116-47

The Hawks had seven first place finishers at the meet Friday night

RESULTS

JAMAICA, NY - On Friday, January 11th the women's swimming team traveled to Jamaica to compete against the Cardinals of York College in a conference meet.  The Hawks dominated, having seven first place finishers to get a 116-47 victory against the Cardinals.  The Hawks now improve to 5-6, 3-2 CUNYAC while York drops to 0-9, 0-5 CUNYAC.

The 200 MR team consisting of Helena Mapoy, Christina Chu, Annie Qiu, and Niky Wu got things started for the Hawks with a 2:36.06 first place finish.  Wu went on to win the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:43.75.

Junior standout Jennifer Dzurita placed first in the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of 31.11 and also in the 100 Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:08.31. Azinia Gamez placed first in the 100 Meter Butterfly with a time of 1:43.04.  Chryzl Goco grabbed first place in the 100 Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:18.35 while Paulina Backiel placed first in the 400 Meter Freestyle with a time of 6:06.44.

The Hawks are back in the pool Friday, January 18th when they compete away at WCSU.
